Intro to Newspaper Design
- What is your favorite newspaper front page? Why? Arizona Daily Star, Tucson Arizona. They have some interesting topics and there headlines make me want to read their Newspaper.
- What is your favorite headline from that newspaper? Why are you interested in it? Tucson run in memory of Boston victims
- How many stories are on the front page of your favorite? 3 out of 5 stories
- What do you notice that all newspaper front pages have in common? Look at design, size of photos, size of story text, etc. The stories that are the most important have the bigger pictures, the Headlines are bigger than the stories. They all have the same type of text.
- What are things that vary (or are different) on the front pages of different newspapers? Look at design, size of photos, size of headlines, etc. They put a concert ad in the front cover. And they also put a sporting event on the very top of the newspaper. Some headlines are smaller than others.

Composition, Lenses and Photography terms
I would use a telephoto lens to shoot pictures at a Soccer game or Football game.
I would use a prime lens in a place that has bad lighting, and if you want to have fine detail.
I would use a wide-angle lens when a band is performing, or when you're trying to fit more in a frame.
Depth of Field (shallow and wide) - Distance between the nearest and farthest objects in a scene that appear acceptably sharp in an image.
Light (angle and intensity) - is electromagnetic radiation that is visible to the human eye.
Shadows - and area where direct light from a light source cannot reach due to obstruction by an object.
Exposure - the amount of light allowed to fall on each area unit of a photographic medium during the process of taking a photograph.
Aperture (f stop) - a hole or an opening through with light travels.
Shutter speed - the effective length of time a cameras shutter is open.
ISO - controls the sensitivity of your cameras sensor to a given amount of light.
